Sneha Banerjee is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Data Science). She is in the final semester of her M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani. She holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) and has undergone specialized training in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Drone Technology at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad, as well as Applied Machine Learning and Data Science from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur.

She brings over seven years of industry experience across leading global technology organizations including Microsoft, Nike, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), and Aujas Cybersecurity. Her professional expertise lies at the intersection of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity Analytics, with focus on large-scale data-driven threat detection, machine learning systems, and cloud-scale security analytics. At Microsoft, she led advanced cyber threat hunting and incident response initiatives across distributed cloud environments and developed AI-assisted security analytics platforms leveraging machine learning and generative AI.

Her teaching and academic interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science; Cybersecurity Analytics and Digital Forensics; Applied Data Science and MLOps; Robotics, Computer Vision and Reinforcement Learning; Cloud and DevSecOps Engineering; Generative AI and LLM Safety; and Responsible AI. She advocates practice-led and experiential learning, integrating real-world datasets, cyber-range laboratories, and cloud platforms into teaching to bridge data science theory with industry-scale applications.

Her professional and independent applied work spans data-driven security analytics, robotics and intelligent systems, including LLM safety evaluation frameworks, threat intelligence knowledge graphs, anomaly detection models, computer vision pipelines, and retrieval-augmented generation systems over large-scale security telemetry and enterprise data. She has delivered invited talks and workshops at International Cybersecurity and AI forums in Canada, Singapore, and India.

Sneha Banerjee holds multiple global professional certifications including GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Certified Azure Red Team Professional (CARTP), AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). She has been involved in global professional initiatives such as Microsoft Women in Cyber and the Cloud Security Alliance, and has been recognized in several international cybersecurity and diversity leadership programs.
