The journey of Executive Education at Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru, began in 2018 with a simple yet powerful conviction: learning should not end with a university degree, nor should professional growth be constrained by the demands of a working life.
Recognising the growing need among working professionals to upgrade their knowledge, acquire new competencies and prepare themselves for leadership responsibilities, the University embarked on an initiative to bring quality management education closer to the workplace.
What began as an experiment with the launch of the Executive MBA programme has, over the years, evolved into a significant and vibrant vertical of the University.
The Executive MBA was conceived around the realities of working professionals. Its weekend delivery model enabled executives to pursue higher education without interrupting their careers. The programme brought together professionals from diverse industries, functional backgrounds and managerial levels, creating a rich learning environment in which academic concepts could be tested against real-world business experiences.
Over the years, the programme has grown in scale, reach and relevance, engaging more than 2,500 working professionals across its successive cohorts. Its evolution has been driven by a sustained commitment to industry relevance, academic quality, experiential learning and the development of managerial and leadership capabilities.
The philosophy has always extended beyond the acquisition of another qualification. It is about helping professionals become better managers, more effective leaders and more thoughtful decision-makers. Through case-based learning, industry interactions, simulations, collaborative assignments and engagement with experienced faculty and practitioners, participants are encouraged to connect theory with practice and bring their workplace challenges into the classroom.
As the business environment began to change more rapidly, Executive Education evolved in response. The emergence of digital technologies, data-driven decision-making, artificial intelligence and new business models demanded a fresh approach to management education. The University responded by expanding its portfolio beyond the traditional Executive MBA to include management development programmes, specialised certificate programmes and customised learning interventions for industry.
A significant milestone in this continuing evolution is the introduction of the Executive MBA in Applied AI and Decision Intelligence. Designed for working professionals, this programme reflects the University's recognition that the next generation of managers must be equally comfortable with business strategy, technology, analytics and intelligent decision-making. It represents a forward-looking approach to developing leaders who can navigate complexity and create value in an increasingly AI-driven world.
Executive Education also seeks to build bridges between academia and industry by bringing accomplished professionals, corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, consultants and domain specialists into the learning ecosystem. Through faculty development, industry partnerships, executive development initiatives and specialised programmes, the vertical is steadily expanding its role as a platform for lifelong learning and professional transformation.

Business World has ranked us as follows in the Top B Schools Rankings published on Feb 04, 2023. Dayananda Sagar University B School is ranked 61st nationally in the overall ranking, against a total of 146 B-Schools that were eligible in the country. The ranking among top private B Schools is 43/163 and in the South of India, it is 17/54.
