Mr. Abhishek M
Assistant Professor
Mr. Abhishek M (Ph.D.) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, effective from February 2026. He holds a Master’s degree in Thermal Power Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University and is currently pursuing his doctoral studies at Mahindra University.
He possesses broad industrial experience spanning multiple domains, ranging from core mechanical engineering to the IT sector. Following the completion of his master’s degree, he began his career with an automotive multinational corporation, primarily focusing on research and development. His work involved delivering engineering solutions in electric vehicle thermal management systems, radiator resizing, hydraulic system calibration, and related areas.
His expertise and research interests lie in utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) as a tool for solving heat and mass transfer problems, battery thermal management systems, future energy technologies, renewable energy systems, Li-ion battery technology, and the integration of AI/ML-assisted technologies for energy optimization.
In parallel with his academic role, Mr. Abhishek M is pursuing his Ph.D. in Battery Thermal Management, with a focused and rigorous investigation into the modelling and thermal management of large-format prismatic cells under high and low ambient conditions. Both experimental and numerical studies have been conducted using empirical, semi-empirical, and physics-based approaches.
His research contributions have been published in reputed journals such as the Journal of Energy Technology, Journal of Energy Storage, and the SAE International Conference Proceedings.
