Dr. Ankita Thakkar

Assistant Professor

Dr. Ankita Thakkar is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) at Dayananda Sagar University. She holds a B.E. and M.E. in Information Technology from Mumbai University, as well as an M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, USA. She has completed her Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Machine Learning from the Swiss School of Business and Management, Geneva, Switzerland.

With over 13 years of combined academic and industry experience, Dr. Thakkar has held leadership roles in EdTech organizations, where she led AI-driven curriculum innovation, educator training initiatives, and product development efforts. She has trained both technical and non-technical learners in Data Analytics, Data Science, and the AI technology stack, with a strong focus on applied, industry-aligned learning.

Her research interests include Machine Learning and Predictive Modelling, Deep Learning and Large Language Models (LLMs), Explainable and Fair AI Systems, Adaptive and Hybrid Recommendation Systems, Game Theory in AI, and Applied Data Science and Analytics, with an emphasis on developing responsible, interpretable, and industry-relevant AI solutions.

Dr. Thakkar is a recipient of the Dean’s Merit Scholarship from the University of Nevada, Reno, and has received multiple awards recognizing excellence in teaching and curriculum development.
