Dr. Apsara Kavital

Assistant Professor

Biography: Dr. Apsara Kavital is an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the School of Basic and Applied Sciences, Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru. She has 3 years’ experience in teaching and mentoring undergraduate, postgraduate, and paramedical students, and has co-supervised M.Sc. Biotechnology research projects. She earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology from Karnatak University, Dharwad. Her research integrated microbiology, phytochemistry, diabetology, and nanobiotechnology, employing microbiological, biochemical, in vitro, in vivo, and in silico approaches.

Areas of Expertise: Microbiology, biotechnology, diabetology, nanotechnology, and analytical research.

Research Interests at DSU: Dr. Apsara aims to advance interdisciplinary research integrating microbiology, diabetology, computational biology, nanotechnology, and analytical sciences to address emerging challenges in biomedical research, cancer biology, infectious diseases, diabetes, and therapeutic development. Her long-term research vision focuses on combining experimental and computational approaches to generate meaningful biological insights and translate research findings into innovative applications in healthcare.

• Academic Achievement – Qualified K-SET (Karnataka State Eligibility Test) in 2019.
• Research Funding – Her doctoral research was funded by KSTePS – DST (Karnataka Science and Technology Promotion Society Department of Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka).
• Participated as Delegate/Faculty in the CME on Advanced Laboratory Techniques at Urinary Biomarkers Research Centre, KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & MRC, Belagavi.
