Dr. Manas Barai
Assistant Professor
Dr. Manas Barai is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, SoE, Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru, India. He qualified CSIR-NET in June 2015 and GATE in January 2018. Dr. Barai received his Ph.D. degree on July, 2021 in Department of Chemistry at Vidyasagar University, West Bengal, India. Dr. Barai completed a four-month visiting research scholar program (April 2018 to July 2018) in the Department of Chemical Engineering, National Cheng Kung University, Taipei, Taiwan.
He achieved one-year (2021 to 2022) post-doctoral research experiences from National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, India and two-year senior post-doctoral research experiences (2022 to 2024) in the Department of Chemistry, Luleå University of Technology, Sweden, also completed four months (October 2024 to January 2025) research scientist position in Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali, India.
Dr. Barai has published more than twenty-five research articles, book, and book chapters in different reputed international journals, such as Discover Nano, J. Molecular Liquids, JCIS Open, Chemistry An-Asian J., Scientific Reports, Langmuir, Nano Letters, J. Applied Nano Materials, Colloid Surface A, JPC B, JPC C, etc. He has attended more than fifteen National and International conferences and demonstrated his ability in public forums through oral and poster presentations.
Dr. Barai has been selected for the best researcher award in July 2026 from Scientific Laurels, Tamil Nadu, India. He reviewed different international research papers, such as Open Veterinary Journal, J. Disperse. Sci. Technol., Chemistry Select, Frontier in Chemistry, and achieved certificates in his credit.
His expertise includes interfacial aggregation studies of oppositely charged surfactant assemblies with special reference to drug delivery, inorganic nanoparticle synthesis, and dermatological activities. Similarly, he gained the research about the synthesis procedure of perovskite CsPbBr3 nanocrystals and their photophysical studies through different spectroscopy studies, viz., UV-Vis./fluorescence, time count single photon counting (TCSPC), and fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS), etc. He achieved the polymer synthesis and characterization and in vitro biomedical applications.
Dr. Barai has developed the research laboratory at Dayananda Sagar University and also guided PhD research scholars. Dr. Barai actively welcomes collaborative research, interdisciplinary partnerships, and academic-industry collaborations to advance innovative solutions to contemporary scientific and technological challenges.
