Dr. Spoorthi B C is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, School of Engineering, at Dayananda Sagar University, Harohalli. Dr. Spoorthi B C obtained her doctorate degree in Biochemistry from Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru, India. She has received M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry from Bangalore University in Dayananda Sagar Institutions, Bangalore.

She has 3 years 7 months research experience as a JRF for DST-SERB funded project at Dayananda Sagar University, Bangalore, India. Her research experience focusses on development of neuropeptide drugs for different disease condition including ulcerative colitis associated with mitochondrial dysfunction. She has a track record of presenting her research work in various prestigious International and national conferences. She has one book chapters and 9 research publications to her credit.

She integrates strong research proficiency with student-centred teaching to create a research-informed learning environment. She specializes in Biochemistry, Clinical Biochemistry, and Engineering Chemistry, with a focus on simplifying complex biochemical mechanisms for undergraduate, post graduate and engineering students.

In addition to university-level teaching, she has experience in training students for competitive examinations such as NEET, JEE, and NET, helping learners build conceptual clarity, problem-solving skills, and exam-oriented strategies. Through her teaching, she bridges theoretical concepts with laboratory applications, fostering analytical thinking, scientific curiosity, and research orientation among students.
