Assistant Professor

Mr. Gnanakumar D is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. He is pursuing his Ph.D. in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam (IIIT Kottayam), Kerala. He holds an M.Tech. in Wireless Communication from Pondicherry University, Pondicherry and a B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Tamil Nadu. He has more than six years of teaching and research experience across various institutions in India. His areas of interest span Wireless Communication, Optics and Photonics, and Artificial Intelligence.

He has delivered seven invited talks and earned multiple recognitions, notably securing the faculty category winner position with a cash award at a national innovation contest supported by Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission. His achievements also comprise awards at national-level project expos and ISTE conventions. His research contributions include publications in reputed international conferences and journals, with Best Paper Awards and institutional Research Incentive recognitions.

He has completed eight NPTEL course certifications and participated in SPARC programs, along with 20+ Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) conducted by IITs, NITs, and IIITs under initiatives such as ATAL, NPTEL-AICTE, ICT Academy, ISTE, and IETE. He has received teaching excellence awards, been recognized as a “Top Performing Mentor” in NPTEL courses, and completed the Professional Mentoring Program conducted by the IEEE India Council.

He is a passionate academician committed to continuously acquiring skills and derives deep professional satisfaction from knowledge sharing through teaching and research.
