Dr. Harish Sivasankaran
Professor
Dr. Harish Sivasankaran is a researcher and educator whose work spans Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Engineering Systems, Advanced Thermal Sciences, and Sustainable Energy Technologies. With over fifteen years of academic and research experience across Japan, Europe, and India, he brings an interdisciplinary perspective that integrates data-driven methodologies, advanced materials, energy systems, and emerging digital technologies.
He earned his Doctor of Engineering degree from The University of Tokyo, Japan, under the prestigious MEXT Scholarship awarded by the Government of Japan. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Thermofluids Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, India.
Before joining Dayananda Sagar University, Dr. Harish served as Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli. Earlier, he held the position of Principal Researcher (Associate Professor Grade) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Tokyo, Japan, where he contributed to research in thermal sciences, advanced materials, energy systems, and sustainable technologies. He has also held academic and research appointments at Kyushu University, Japan, and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, India.
In recognition of his research contributions, Dr. Harish was appointed as Honorary Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, India. His international academic engagements include collaborations with Stanford University, USA, and the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
Dr. Harish’s research focuses on the convergence of Artificial Intelligence, intelligent systems, advanced materials, and sustainable engineering technologies. His work explores machine learning and data-driven approaches for engineering applications, intelligent sensing systems, digital engineering, energy-efficient technologies, thermal management systems, energy harvesting, and sustainable solutions for future infrastructure and industrial systems.
He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed international publications in leading journals and conferences, with over 4,300 citations and an h-index of 38. Since 2019, he has been consistently recognized among the World’s Top 2% Scientists in the annual rankings published by Stanford University and Elsevier. His research has been supported through competitive international fellowships, research grants, and collaborations with leading academic and research institutions.
