Guest Lecture on Leading in Times of Uncertainty by Dr David Morris
The School of Commerce and Management Studies - UG had the privilege of hosting Dr David Morris Senior Research Fellow at Beijing Foreign Studies University for an engaging and insightful session with students across all semesters.
The session was centered on the theme Leading in Times of Uncertainty and offered students a global perspective on navigating dynamic business environments. Dr Morris shared valuable insights on adaptive leadership resilience and decision making in uncertain times highlighting the skills essential for future leaders.
The session was highly interactive and thought provoking encouraging students to reflect on leadership challenges in today’s rapidly evolving world.

Faculty Session on Geopolitics in a Multipolar World by Dr David Morris
The School of Commerce and Management Studies - UG hosted Dr David Morris Senior Research Fellow at Beijing Foreign Studies University for an insightful session with faculty members.
The session explored geopolitics in a multipolar world, offering a deeper understanding of evolving global power dynamics and their impact on academic research and policy. Dr Morris shared valuable perspectives on how shifting geopolitical landscapes influence economic, political, and institutional frameworks across countries.
The discussion prompted faculty members to reflect on the importance of incorporating global perspectives into teaching and research, making the session both enriching and intellectually engaging.

Brain-Bid-Build Event
The School of Commerce and Management Studies – UG (BBA & B.Com) successfully conducted the Brain-Bid-Build event on 16th March 2026. Brain-Bid-Build is an innovative, multi-round business game designed to promote sustainable thinking through experiential learning. Participants begin with a quiz, then engage in strategic bidding, and finally build and pitch a sustainability-driven company. This event directly aligns with SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by encouraging participants to make thoughtful decisions about resource allocation, product value, and sustainable business practices. It also supports SDG 15 (Life on Land) by inspiring eco-conscious product ideas that minimize environmental harm and promote conservation.

GreenProof: Diagnose. Design. Disclose
GreenProof: Diagnose. Design. Disclose. – An ESG Analysis, Innovation & Ethical Branding Competition organized by the E-Cell, School of Commerce and Management Studies – UG (BBA & B.Com), provided a dynamic platform for students to engage with real-world sustainability challenges under the guidance of Dean Dr. Truptha Shankar. Participants analyzed Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) gaps in enterprises, developed innovative solutions, and presented structured strategy briefs along with impactful posters. The event was enriched by the presence of Ms. Sikta as a guest and supported by Suriya Foundation as the Awards Partner. Evaluated by an expert panel comprising Dr. Priya K. M and Dr. Chudamani S., the competition emphasized ethical communication, transparency, and anti-greenwashing practices. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), GreenProof fostered critical thinking, innovation, and responsible business perspectives among students.
Faculty Workshop on Research and Teaching Innovation
We had the privilege of hosting Dr. Paulo Mora-Avila from the University of Worcester for an insightful workshop on Innovative approaches to Research and teaching for the faculty members of the School of Commerce and Management Studies-UG (BBA & B.Com), Dayananda Sagar University. The session provided valuable perspectives on strengthening research orientation while integrating effective pedagogical practices in higher education. Dr. Paulo Mora-Avila shared practical insights on enhancing teaching effectiveness, fostering research culture, and encouraging innovative learning approaches in the classroom.

Guest Lecture by Dr. Paulo Mora-Avila on Brand Management and Ethical Decision Making
We were delighted to host Dr. Paulo Mora-Avila from the University of Worcester for an engaging and insightful session with the students of all semesters at the School of Commerce and Management Studies-UG (BBA & B.Com).
Dr. Mora-Avila delivered thought-provoking sessions on Brand Management, Ethical Decision Making in cross-cultural business contexts, and Corporate Identity, offering students a global perspective on contemporary business practices. The session helped students understand how brands are strategically built, the importance of ethical decision-making in international business environments, and how corporate identity shapes organizational reputation.
The interactive discussions and real-world insights made the session highly enriching for our students, inspiring them to think critically and globally about business challenges.
