Assistant Professor

Nikhil Jindal is currently working as an Assistant Professor - AI & Robotics Department, CS Cluster, School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), South Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Here, he is guiding and preparing the new generation of engineers, keeping them ready and updated with the changing industry and academic trends in the AI & Robotics domain, driven by innovation and new research.

He is also focusing on Interdisciplinary Research & Collaboration, while contributing to the AI & Robotics Department’s administrative and management work with in his capacity.

He has completed his Master of Technology in Artificial Intelligence from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar, Punjab, with his thesis titled "Leveraging Latents for Segmentation & Classification of Breast Cancer Screening IR Thermograms", and was also an IndiaAI Research Fellow under MeitY. He completed his B.Tech in Information Technology with an ECE Minor, proficiency in Data Science from Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Solan, Himachal Pradesh, and is also enrolled in the PGPMCI program from IIM Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

He has work experience as Assistant Professor - AI & Robotics at Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), South Bengaluru, Karnataka; Researcher - AI & MLOps at IIT Delhi; Solution Architect–AI Intern (PRM-R&D) at Siemens Energy; Research Intern - AI at IISc Bangalore; Generative AI Engineer Intern at VR AR MR; and ML Intern at Azure Skynet.

Domain: AI (ML, DL, CV, NLP, Medical AI, GenAI & Autonomous Systems)

Published “Infrared Breast Thermography for Cancer Screening: A Review of Artificial Intelligence Architectures and Latent Feature Learning” and “Identification of Phishing Attacks using Machine Learning” at IEEE International Conferences.
