Mr. Nilanshu Nilay
Assistant Professor
Nilanshu Nilay is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru.
He completed his M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jalandhar, with a strong foundation in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, and Intelligent Systems. He also holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Bakhtiyarpur College of Engineering, Patna.
His research interests span Computer Vision, Hyperspectral Imaging, Deep Learning, Robotics, Remote Sensing, and AI for Sustainable Manufacturing. During his M.Tech, he developed an AI-driven multi-band hyperspectral framework for the automated classification of non-ferrous metals in electronic waste recycling, systematically investigating the impact of spectral dimensionality on material classification using machine learning and deep learning models. His research contributes to intelligent recycling systems and sustainable resource recovery.
His teaching interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Sensor Systems and IoT, Robotics, and Engineering MLOps. He has also contributed to the academic community by serving as a reviewer for the International Conference on Machine Intelligence for Research & Innovations (MAiTRI 2026), evaluating manuscripts in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and as a Student Coordinator for the International Conference on Soft Computing: Theories and Applications (SoCTA 2025).
His technical expertise includes Python, with hands-on experience in PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, Scikit-learn, ROS 2, Ultralytics YOLO, Git, and GitHub. His work focuses on developing scalable AI solutions by integrating computer vision, deep learning, and intelligent systems for real-world engineering and industrial applications.
