Ranjeet Singh Thakur is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru. He completed his M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Allahabad, where he specialized in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Intelligent Systems. He holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from PDPM Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Jabalpur, providing him with a strong interdisciplinary foundation spanning mechanical engineering, software development, and intelligent autonomous systems.
His research interests span Artificial Intelligence, Multi-Robot Systems, Autonomous Robotics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Edge AI, Human-Robot Interaction, Robot Perception, Natural Language Understanding for Robotics, and Intelligent Autonomous Systems. His postgraduate research focused on decentralized multi-robot coordination, integrating perception, task allocation, autonomous navigation, and natural language understanding to develop intelligent robotic systems capable of operating efficiently in dynamic environments.
His teaching interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics, Image and Video Processing, Database Management Systems, Data Structures and Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, and Programming using Python and C++. Prior to joining Dayananda Sagar University, he served as a Teaching Assistant at IIIT Allahabad, where he conducted laboratory sessions, guided students, evaluated assignments, and assisted in teaching courses including Image and Video Processing, Database Management Systems (DBMS), and Social Network Analysis.
His research and development experience includes the design and implementation of intelligent AI-driven systems for robotics and computer vision. His major research project, DART-MRS (Decentralized Adaptive Robotic Task Management and Response System), presents a ROS2-based decentralized multi-robot framework integrating YOLOv8 object detection, PI-CBBA task allocation, natural language command parsing, EKF-SLAM, and Nav2 navigation for collaborative robotic operations. He has also developed deep learning solutions for facial expression recognition, AI-based electric vehicle range prediction, and an OpenGL-based 3D virtual campus visualization system, demonstrating expertise across artificial intelligence, robotics, simulation, and intelligent software development.
Mr. Ranjeet possesses strong programming expertise in Python, C++, Java, and C, with hands-on experience in ROS2, TensorFlow, OpenCV, Webots, MATLAB, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. His technical expertise includes machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, robotic perception, autonomous navigation, simulation, software engineering, and intelligent system development. He is committed to advancing research in AI-driven robotics while fostering innovation, critical thinking, and practical learning through research-oriented teaching and interdisciplinary collaboration.
