Dr. Ravi Tej Y. P. is an academic, researcher, and technology enthusiast with interdisciplinary expertise at the convergence of Mechanical Engineering and Artificial Intelligence (AI). He holds a Ph.D. from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), an M.Tech. degree from Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, and a B.E. degree from Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology.
He has teaching and research experience and has published 32 research papers in Scopus-indexed journals and publications. His research contributions span mechanical engineering and emerging technology applications, reflecting his commitment to high-quality research and interdisciplinary innovation.
Dr. Ravi Tej has successfully cleared the NVIDIA Certified Associate: Generative AI and LLMs certification, demonstrating his knowledge of Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) technologies. He is also actively engaged with NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute (DLI) learning and training resources to strengthen his expertise in AI, deep learning, accelerated computing, and practical applications of intelligent technologies.
A key focus of his academic work is bridging the gap between conventional Mechanical Engineering and modern AI technologies. Through teaching, mentoring, and research guidance, he encourages students to explore applications of Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, Generative AI, and LLM-based technologies in engineering design, analysis, manufacturing, automation, and intelligent systems.
His earlier research interests include contact stress analysis and gear design for automobile and aerospace applications. He presented and published the paper “Design and Analysis of Contact Stresses in Aero-Engine Spur Gears” at an international conference. He also carried out his internship and academic project at the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Bengaluru, gaining valuable exposure to aerospace research and engineering applications.
With a strong interest in interdisciplinary research and technology-enabled education, Dr. Ravi Tej aims to contribute to institutional development through innovative teaching, impactful research, student mentoring, and the adoption of emerging technologies. His vision is to create meaningful connections between Mechanical Engineering and AI-driven technologies and to prepare students for Industry 4.0, intelligent engineering, and future technology-driven careers.
