Assistant Professor
Mr. Saurav Kumar is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning). He completed his M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur in 2026 and earned his B.Tech. in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from National Institute of Technology Nagaland in 2023 with a CGPA of 8.97. He qualified GATE (CSE) 2024 with a 97.96 percentile.
During his postgraduate studies, he served as a Teaching Assistant for Operating Systems and Computer Networks, assisting in tutorials, laboratory sessions, and student mentoring. He also worked as a Managed Network Expert at Chegg, supporting students in Statistics and Probability.
His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Generative AI. He has worked on several research-oriented projects, including MoodSense, a multimodal emotion-aware recommendation system integrating NLP, speech, and facial emotion recognition; a sequential sketch generation framework using Conditional WGAN-GP and LSTM architectures; and a comparative study on machine learning models for credit risk prediction.
He is proficient in Python, C/C++, SQL, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, OpenCV, Git, Docker, and Linux. He has also completed an NPTEL certification in Data Science from Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
His teaching and research vision focuses on integrating modern AI and machine learning advancements with real-world applications to develop industry-ready engineers and contribute to interdisciplinary research.
