Assisstant Professor
Shital Kumari is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Applications at Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), Bengaluru. She holds a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra. Her research interests include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), Educational Data Mining, and Environmental Data Science.
She has published research on Holistic Student Performance Prediction (HERO.NET) at ICCV 2023 and is actively involved in advancing intelligent and explainable AI-based solutions for real-world applications. Her current research includes AHED-Forecast, a hybrid demand forecasting framework integrating advanced machine learning and deep learning techniques, and PC-WPSP (Physico-Chemical Water Pollution Source Prediction), which has been submitted to an international conference. She is currently extending the PC-WPSP research into a journal publication, incorporating Explainable AI (XAI) techniques.
She has qualified GATE 2026 and earned certifications in Generative AI, Microsoft AI, Secure Software Development, and Data Science & Analytics, reflecting her commitment to continuous learning and professional excellence. Alongside her teaching and research responsibilities,She has guided BCA and B.Sc. Data Science students in the successful execution of academic and project-based work. Her work is driven by a strong interest in interdisciplinary research, with a focus on developing innovative, explainable, and impactful AI-driven solutions that effectively bridge the gap between academic research and real-world applications.
