Department of Biological SciencesDr. Suhasa G is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities and Biological Sciences at Dayananda Sagar University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, in 2020, with BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru, serving as his research centre. He completed his M.Tech. in Biotechnology from VIT University, Vellore, in 2011. His research interests include the development of low-cost and sensitive PCR-based methodologies for target identification and mutation detection, as well as the scientific study of meditation. Based on his subjective experiences, he conceptualized BLiSSSS Meditation (Play the mantra, and Breathe, Listen, See, Say, and Sense Synchronously), a multisensory engagement-based meditation learning technique. The conceptual framework of BLiSSSS Meditation has been published with a DOI on Zenodo, an open-access research repository. The technique is designed to manage sensory dysregulation—particularly sensory overload and sensory deprivation—and thereby facilitate sustained present-moment awareness during meditation.
