Internship at Dassault Systèmes Foundation

Mr. Qasim Johar (ENG23AS0039), a IV-year student from the Department of Aerospace Engineering, has been selected for an internship at the Dassault Systèmes Foundation. This achievement reflects his technical competence and the department’s emphasis on developing industry-relevant skills and providing students with opportunities to gain exposure to global engineering practices.
IEEE SPACE 2026 Delegates – B.Tech Initiative of SPACE 2026

Five students from the Department of Aerospace Engineering—Ms. Tanushree (ENG23AS0020), Ms. Shrijitha (ENG23AS0019), Ms. Gahana V (ENG23AS0047), Mr. Shivakumar (ENG24AS1001), and Mr. Ayan Samantha (ENG23AS0041)—were selected to represent Dayananda Sagar University as delegates under the B.Tech Initiative of SPACE 2026 at the prestigious IEEE SPACE 2026 Conference. The selection provides students with an opportunity to interact with researchers, academicians, and industry professionals and gain exposure to emerging developments in space technology.
Participation in CII–IN-SPACe Conclave

Students from the Department of Aerospace Engineering presented their CanSat project journey at the CII–IN-SPACe Conclave. Mr. Krish Agarwal (ENG22AS0031), Ms. Khyati Choubey (ENG22AS0030), Ms. Srilaxmi Shenoy (ENG22AS0041), and Mr. Pramath Gopal Bhat (ENG22EC0091), under the guidance of Dr. Prashantha Kumar H., showcased their technical work and gained valuable insights into India’s emerging NewSpace ecosystem. The experience strengthened their understanding of collaborative innovation and encouraged them to pursue opportunities in aerospace and space technology.
Flight’26 Aeroexpo 2026 – Avionics Workshop

Six VI-semester students from the Department of Aerospace Engineering—Ms. Nisha Rani, Ms. Rakshitha, Ms. Shafli, Ms. Ridhima Jain, Ms. Sneha Gopal, and Mr. Krishna Ramani—participated in an Avionics Workshop conducted as part of the national-level technical symposium Flight’26 at the Madras Institute of Technology, Anna University. The workshop provided hands-on exposure to aircraft instrumentation, communication, and control systems, strengthening the students’ practical understanding of avionics and emerging aerospace technologies.
Flight Fury Competition at IIT Roorkee

Students from the VI semester of the Department of Aerospace Engineering—Ms. Tanushree, Ms. Yashaswini U, Ms. Gahana V, Mr. Shivakumar, and Mr. Vijaykumar AN—participated in the RC Plane Aircraft Design and Piloting Competition at IIT Roorkee. Their participation demonstrated strong technical aptitude, teamwork, and hands-on skills in aircraft design and flight operations. The competition provided valuable exposure to aeromodelling challenges and enhanced their practical understanding of aerodynamics, control, and system integration.
Internship at Tech Mahindra

Mr. Nikil N. P. (ENG22AS0011), Mr. Visweshraj M. (ENG22AS0020), and Mr. Barat P. (ENG22AS0025) from the Department of Aerospace Engineering were selected for internships at Tech Mahindra in the domain of AR/VR Engineering. This achievement reflects their strong technical foundation and growing expertise in immersive technologies, while providing valuable interdisciplinary and industry exposure.
National Innovation Challenge for Drone Application and Research (NIDAR 2026)
10-16th January 2026
Roxx Air Vehicles, an interdisciplinary team from Dayananda Sagar University comprising students from CSE, ECE, and Aerospace Engineering, participated in NIDAR 2026 organized by the Drone Federation of India at Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida. The team worked on designing and deploying a collaborative dual-drone system for post-disaster scenarios. Despite funding and supply-chain challenges, the team successfully completed the system design and prototype assembly and performed strongly in the Business Strategy Pitch and Technical Design Review, earning appreciation for their engineering approach.
One-Day Drone Workshop at GITAM University

Students Tanushree, Jessica George, Yashaswini U, Tejas P Gowda, Shivakumar, and Vijaykumar AN from the Department of Aerospace Engineering successfully completed a one-day hands-on Drone Workshop organized as part of Prerana 2026 – The Spectrum Within at GITAM University. With expert guidance from ISRO scientist D. Naga Chandra Teja and other professionals, the students gained practical knowledge and technical skills in drone technology, further strengthening their interest in UAV design and applications.
Karnataka Kreedakoota – Gold and Silver Medals
2025–26
Sahana Murthy (ENG23AS0056), a III-year student from the Department of Aerospace Engineering, brought home three medals at the Karnataka Kreedakoota 2025–26 organized by KOA in Tumkur. She secured Gold medals in the Team and Singles categories and a Silver medal in the Doubles category, demonstrating exceptional talent, dedication, and sporting excellence alongside her academic pursuits.
Post-Mission Analysis Workshop – Model Rocketry and CANSAT

Students from the Department of Aerospace Engineering participated in the Post-Mission Analysis (PMA) Workshop for Model Rocketry and CANSAT held at BMSCE on 23 January 2026, followed by the Educators Cohort Meeting and valedictory event at Dassault Systèmes, Jayanagar, on 24 January 2026. The CANSAT and Model Rocketry teams, under the guidance of Dr. Nagaraja S. R., Dr. Prasanthakumar H. G., and Prof. Sripad Kulkarni, showcased their technical skills and gained further exposure to model rocketry and CANSAT competitions.
ISTE Global TechCon 2026

Mr. Nikhil N. P. (ENG22AS0011) participated in ISTE Global TechCon 2026 held at D. Y. Patil Agriculture & Technical University, Kolhapur, where he presented a research paper titled “Mechanical Characterization of Warp-Weft Aligned Basalt and Jute Fiber-Reinforced Polyester Composites,” under the guidance of Prof. Sripad Kulkarni S. His participation provided an opportunity to present research work at a national technical forum and engage with developments in engineering technology and education.
Winning Second Place in National Level CANSAT/ Model Rocketry Competition
The Students from the Department of Aerospace Engineering Dayananda Sagar University have participated in CANSAT/ Model Rocketry competition finals held from October 28-30, 2025 at Narayani River Bank in Pipraghat, Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. Demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork, the students clinched the Second Place in the CANSAT competition, making the entire Dayananda Sagar University proud.
DSU's Aerospace Students secured First Prize in the event “Wind Rush”
Tejashree H ENG23AS0022, RISHAB PRAVEEN BADIGER ENG23AS0015 and AYAN SAMANTA ENG23AS0041 students from III year Department of Aerospace Engineering Dayananda Sagar University secured First Prize in the event “Wind Rush” at the National Level Tech Fest “Pravrutti”, organized by M. S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bengaluru, held from 15th to 17th October 2025. The event showcased innovative aeromodelling projects, and teams outstanding performance demonstrated technical excellence and creativity in aerospace design.
Congratulations to Hydronauts
Mr. Vijay Kumar A N and Ms. Yashaswini U, students of the 3rd year, participated in a national-level quiz competition organized by the Fluid Power Society of India (FPSI) and achieved an impressive 4th place among 125 teams from across the country. The finals of the competition were held on 10th October 2025. They were mentored by Dr. B. V. N. Ramakumar.

Students’ Participation in Conference (ICAAN-2025)
Final-year Aerospace Engineering students—Rahul Bhargav, Tejas A. S., Adnan Likhiyat Pathan, Srilaxmi Shenoy, Krish Agrawal, Khyati Choubey, Ashvani Choudary, Jaiman Khandelwal, Vishesh Soni, and Aagnayee Biswas—actively participated in the International Conference on Advances in Aerospace and Navigation Systems (ICAAN-2025) hosted by Saranathan College of Engineering, Tamil Nadu, on August 28, showcasing the department's focus on research-driven learning and technical innovation.
Students’ Participation in Space Expo
On July 25, students from the Department of Aerospace Engineering visited the Bangalore Space Expo at BIEC Exhibition Centre. This visit provided valuable hands-on experience with innovations in satellite systems, launch vehicles, and interplanetary missions, and allowed them to explore HAM radio communication and space technology applications.
Students’ Presentation in Conference (IEEE Space Conference-2025)
On July 23, Mr. B. Kartik, Mithun P., and Nikhil N. P. presented a research paper titled "Advancing Wildlife Conservation: AI-Driven Weight Estimation Drones for Accurate and Efficient Wildlife Management" at the IEEE Space Conference 2025, under the guidance of Prof. Sripad Kulkarni.
On July 21, Dr. Prasanthakumar H. G., Assistant Professor, presented a research paper titled "Design and Analysis of PCB-Integrated 1U CubeSat Structure for Enhanced Payload Capacity" at the IEEE Space Conference 2025. The paper was co-authored by Prof. Sripad Kulkarni and Mr. Charan Raj.
Students’ Participation in Conference Flight Readiness Workshop
From July 15–17, Aerospace Engineering students from DSU—Sharan, Rahul Bhargav, Barath, Srilaxmi, Kyathi, and Pramath—participated in the “Flight Readiness Workshop” at Nitte University. The workshop featured expert sessions on Rocketry and CanSat models by Dr. Vinod Kumar (IN-SPACe) and Mr. Sunny (STAR Labs). Dr. Nagaraja S. R. also led an Educator Cohort session on aerospace education.
Students’ Participation in Drone Stack Exhibition
On June 5, Mr. Qasim Johar, a third-year Aerospace Engineering student, participated in the Drone Stack Exhibition hosted by the Drone Federation of India (DFI) at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre. The event provided a platform to explore advancements in drone manufacturing and avionics and engage with innovators in the sector.
Top 10 Finalists in the 13th edition of the Quest Global Ingenium 2025 Program.
The Final-year students from the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Aini Safiyyah (ENG21AS0006) and Deeksha R Shetty (ENG21AS0010), Top 10 Finalists in the 13th edition of the Quest Global Ingenium 2025 Program. Their innovative project “BoltBots: Autonomous Wind Turbine Inspection was selected from a staggering 2878 team registrations and 392 idea submissions received from premier institutions across India. The project was guided by Dr. Srinath R, Assistant Professor, Department of Aerospace Engineering, and aimed at solving a critical problem in the renewable energy sector — the inspection of wind turbines at high altitudes using an autonomous robotic system. The concept integrates AI-based image analysis, mobility mechanisms, and remote monitoring Capabilities to inspect structural bolts and prevent potential failures in wind turbine assemblies.

ISRO START Programme
The students from departments of Aerospace Engineering T Kartik (ENG21AS044) have completed an online training course on Space Science and Technology awareness training (start) under ISRO START Programme organised by India Institute of Remote Sensing off Campus outreach certificate program ISRO Dehardun on Space Science and Technology awareness training (start) under ISRO START Programme. This online programme was conducted during January 09, 2025 to January 29, 2025.This Program was coordinated by Prof Sripad Kulkarni S Nodal coordinator, Dayananda Sagar University for this program.
Best Paper Award at NGIEC organised by East Point College of Engineering
Mr Jason Joseph Dsilva (ENG 20AS0006) (affiliated with the aerospace department dsu) and his team consisting of Subha Prakash Pattnaik, Harsha Tiwari and our mentor Pradeep Kumar K (affiliated with the cse aiml department ) had authored a paper titled "Precision object tracking in a drone system" which being interdisciplinary we had presented at East point college of engineering and technology for the conference "NEXT GENERATION INTELLIGENCE IN ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING [NGIEC- 2024]" conducted by the electronics and communication department of the college after getting accepted and have won the best paper in our track for the same.
