MESSAGE FROM PROGRAM CHAIRPERSON
Dr. Jayavrinda Vrindavanam
Professor and Chairperson
Department of Computer Science & Engineering(Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning)
Welcome to the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University!
“Machines that can think, act, and develop data stories” — this statement could have been considered fiction or fantasy a few years ago. However, thanks to the recent advances and developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), the world of old fiction has been profoundly transformed and dynamically modelled to enable machines to think and act.
It is in this context that we are pleased to announce the introduction of a dedicated program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University. To cater to the aspirations of students and the requirements of the industry, the Department of CSE (AI & ML) offers B.Tech. – CSE (AI & ML), M.Tech. – CSE (AI & ML), and Ph.D. programs. Our aim is to provide high-quality, industry-ready engineering education to our students, supported by adequate hands-on experience and practical exposure.
Our faculty members have expertise in areas such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Cognitive Robotics, Image Processing, Pattern Recognition, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing, and are actively engaged in research and innovation.
The department is supported by the AI Makers Space, a high-performance innovation environment for rapid AI prototyping, applied research, and the deployment of real-world AI solutions, powered by advanced GPU infrastructure, including NVIDIA DGX systems.
The AI Makers Space provides students and researchers with opportunities to develop Generative AI, Multimodal AI, Explainable AI (XAI), and other innovative applications, while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, industry partnerships, hackathons, and startup initiatives.
The program looks forward to contributing to solving technological challenges faced by society through active participation and collaboration among all sections of society.
Thank you for visiting us.
Dr. Jayavrinda Vrindavanam,
Professor and Chairman
