S.P.A.R.K. 2026: Inauguration and Orientation Programme for Postgraduate Students

The School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, successfully inaugurated the First-Year MCA, M.Sc. (Data Science), and M.Sc. (Cybersecurity) programmes on 16 September 2026 at the DSU Innovation Campus. The event marked the beginning of S.P.A.R.K. 2026 (Skills, Perseverance, Attitude, Resourcefulness and Knowledge), a three-day orientation programme aimed at welcoming new postgraduate students and providing them with valuable academic and industry perspectives.

The inaugural programme was graced by Mr. Swaminathan Raghavan, Director of Technology and Site Leader for Central Tech, Booking.com at Booking Holdings India Private Limited, Bengaluru COE, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Vikram Rao, Senior Principal and India Head of Enterprise AI, Infosys Consulting, as the Guest of Honour. The orientation programme featured insightful sessions by industry professionals, including Mr. Ramesh Rajamani, Senior Principal, Business Consulting, Infosys Consulting; Mr. Raja Krishnamoorthy, Senior Solution Director, HCL Technologies; and Mr. Madhan Ganesh, Co-Founder & CEO, HabitZup Innovations, Bengaluru. The programme provided students with industry insights, practical perspectives, and motivation to begin their postgraduate journey with confidence and purpose.

Teachers Day Celebration

Teachers Day was celebrated with warmth and gratitude as students came together to honour their faculty members. Through flowers, cards, and heartfelt wishes, students expressed their appreciation for the guidance, encouragement, and dedication of their teachers. The celebration created memorable moments across the campus and reflected the strong bond of respect, learning, and togetherness shared by students and faculty.

Workshop on “Think Different, Design Better: Design Thinking Mindset”

The School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, in association with Cynux Era, organized a one-day workshop titled “Think Different, Design Better: Design Thinking Mindset” on September 3, 2026, at Gallery Hall 1, DSU Innovation Campus. Coordinated by Mr. Chandaka Giri Babu, Assistant Professor, the workshop featured Mr. Ritesh Dhibar, Lead UX Designer at MediaJenie, who shared industry insights on user-centered design and innovative problem-solving.

Students explored the five stages of Design Thinking—Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test—through interactive discussions, real-world case studies, and hands-on activities. They created empathy maps, low-fidelity wireframes, and tested conceptual prototypes with industry feedback. The workshop concluded with a Q&A session on UX/UI portfolios, industry expectations, and emerging trends, inspiring students to develop innovative and user-focused digital solutions.

International Workshop on AI & Cybersecurity Journey

The School of Computer Applications (SCA), Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), in association with CynuxEra, successfully organized an International Workshop on “AI Cybersecurity Journey” on 2 September 2026 at Gallery Hall 1, ‘A’ Block, Innovation Campus, DSU, Bengaluru.

The workshop featured Mr. James Stanger, Chief Technology Evangelist, CompTIA Inc., USA, as the resource person. The session provided participants with valuable insights into the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in cybersecurity, emerging cyber threats, evolving security challenges, and practical approaches to building a secure digital future.

The interactive two-hour masterclass offered students, faculty members, IT professionals, and cybersecurity enthusiasts an opportunity to explore the latest developments at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity. The session emphasized the importance of adapting to emerging technologies, strengthening cybersecurity practices, and developing the skills required to address the evolving digital threat landscape.

The workshop was highly informative and engaging, enabling participants to gain practical perspectives on how AI is shaping the future of cybersecurity. The session concluded with an interactive exchange of ideas and discussions, inspiring participants to learn, innovate, and contribute towards a safer and more secure digital future.
