Special Lecture on "Inspired by the four principal commitments of his holiness" the 14th Dalai Lama
Dayananda Sagar University hosted a Special Lecture on 4th February 2026 at Gallery Hall, Campus 3, titled “Inspired by the Four Principal Commitments of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.” The session by Geshe Lhakdor highlighted human values, religious harmony, mindfulness, and global responsibility. He emphasized compassion, ethical leadership, and environmental awareness, inspiring students and faculty to adopt responsible and mindful living.
Seminar on "Cyber Frontlines: Global insights from a UK Journalist"
The School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, organized a seminar titled “Cyber Frontlines: Global Insights from a UK Journalist” on 5th February 2026 for MCA students. The session was delivered by Mr. Sean Dodson, Course Director at Leeds Beckett University, UK. He shared insights on global cybersecurity trends, emerging threats, and the role of media in digital security. The interactive session enhanced students’ understanding of cyber challenges and career opportunities, concluding with an engaging discussion.
Campus to Corporate: Placement Readiness Orientation Programme
The School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, in association with the Training and Placement Cell, organized a Campus to Corporate: Placement Readiness Orientation Programme on 9th February 2026 for MCA students at DSU Innovation Campus. The session introduced a training initiative supported by Dell Technologies and delivered by Anudip Foundation, focusing on web development, data visualization, and industry-ready skills. It emphasized practical learning, communication, and career preparedness, helping students understand corporate expectations and improve employability.
Hackathon – Build for DSU
The School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, organized the Hackathon – Build for DSU on 10th February 2026 as an on-campus innovation initiative for BCA students. The event encouraged students to develop practical tech solutions for campus challenges, focusing on innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving. Participants built MVPs with faculty mentorship and presented their projects for evaluation, gaining hands-on experience in real-world software development.
Parent-Teacher Meeting – MCA 1st Sem
The Parents–Teachers Meeting (PTM) for I Semester MCA students (2025–26) was held on 14th February 2026 at DSU Kudlu Gate Campus. The meeting enabled interaction between parents and faculty to discuss academic progress, attendance, and performance. Feedback was collected, and queries regarding exams and schedules were addressed, strengthening parent–teacher communication and student support.
Placement Training by Anudip Foundations - MCA 1st Sem
The School of Computer Applications, in association with the Training and Placement Cell, conducted a five-day Placement Training Programme for MCA students from 16th to 20th February 2026. Delivered by Anudip Foundation with support from Dell Technologies, the programme focused on web development, data visualization, and industry-relevant skills. It combined hands-on learning with practical insights, enhancing students’ technical competence, confidence, and placement readiness.
Campus Visit to Health Science Department Dayananda Sagar university Harohalli Campus
The School of Computer Applications organized a Campus Visit to the Health Science Department at Dayananda Sagar University from 23rd to 25th February 2026 for I MCA students. The visit provided hands-on training in first aid, CPR, and emergency response, along with sessions on preventive healthcare, nutrition, and fitness. It enhanced students’ awareness of health management and equipped them with essential life-saving skills.
CyberSeeds: Network security
The School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, organized an industry immersion session titled “CyberSeeds” for MCA and BCA students. The session, delivered by Mr. Akash Purohit, introduced students to cybersecurity fundamentals, including networking, cyber threats, and defense strategies. It provided industry insights and enhanced students’ understanding of real-world cyber practices and career opportunities in cybersecurity.
Faculty Achievements
The School of Computer Applications (SCA), Dayananda Sagar University, congratulated its faculty members on qualifying the UGC-NET examination on 4th February 2026. Mr. Chandaka Giri Babu and Mr. Rajan Niranjan qualified for Assistant Professor and Ph.D. eligibility, while Mr. Aqib Hussain, Ms. Nikita, Mr. Bhukya Chinna, and Ms. Neha Gupta qualified for Ph.D. eligibility, reflecting the department’s academic excellence and research focus.
Ms. Haripriya R, faculty member of SCA, successfully completed a 6-day National Level Faculty Development Program on “Generative & Agentic AI – Tools & Demos” from 16th to 21st February 2026. The program, organized by SVNIT and co-sponsored by IEEE Gujarat Section in collaboration with Pantech Solutions, focused on emerging concepts and tools in Generative and Agentic AI.

Student Achievements
Tej Sundara, BCA 2nd Semester (Section C), secured 2nd Prize in the RAP Competition at “Cascades – Midnight Masquerade,” the cultural fest of Dayananda Sagar University held on 30th–31st January, showcasing his musical talent among participants from various departments.
Vijith Kanchan, a student of BCA 4th Semester (Section A) from the School of Computer Applications, has brought pride to the department by securing First Prize in the event “Lenscape (Mobile Photography)” organized by Jain College of Sciences.
Sanjeev Swamy and Sanjeev Reddy, students of BCA 6th Semester (Section B), secured First Place in the Hackathon event at Innovesta 2K26, organized by Surana College (Autonomous) on 27th–28th February 2026. The duo demonstrated strong innovation, technical skills, and problem-solving ability, winning a cash prize of ₹6,000 and bringing pride to the School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University.
