Beyond Degrees: The Power of Global Certifications
The School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, in association with Cynux Era, organized an expert lecture titled “Beyond Degrees: Power of Global Certifications” on 29th January 2026 at 11:30 A.M. at DSU Innovation Campus. The session was delivered by Mr. Pradipto Chakrabarty, Regional Director (India & South Asia), CompTIA, India, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. With his extensive experience in the global IT certification ecosystem, he provided valuable insights into the growing significance of internationally recognized certifications in shaping successful IT careers. The interactive session encouraged students to think beyond traditional degree qualifications and focus on continuous skill development to remain globally relevant. The event proved to be highly informative and inspiring, motivating students to strategically plan their professional growth in alignment with global IT standards.
Industrial Visit to Infosys, Mysuru
The III Semester MCA students of the School of Computer Applications (SCA), Dayananda Sagar University, undertook an Industrial Visit to Infosys, Mysuru, on 8th January 2026. The visit commenced from Campus 3 at 6:00 a.m., and the team returned safely to the campus at 8:30 p.m. At the Infosys Mysuru campus, the students were given valuable insights into industry practices and emerging opportunities. Mr. Bilgiri Ranga and Mr. Sai Abhishek conducted an interactive and informative session on Infosys Springboard and Virtual Internship programs. The session was highly engaging, and the speakers patiently addressed students’ queries, helping them gain clarity on skill development, career pathways, and industry expectations. As part of the visit, the students also explored the Mysore Palace, enriching their understanding of cultural heritage and history, making the visit both educational and experiential. Overall, the industrial visit was highly informative and inspiring, providing students with meaningful exposure to the corporate environment along with cultural learning.
NSS Outreach Activity – Career Awareness & Old Age Welfare Program
On 14th January 2026, the NSS Unit of the School of Computer Applications (SCA), Dayananda Sagar University, in association with the Department of Student Affairs under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), conducted a community outreach program at Cheelur Village. The initiative included an Old Age Welfare Survey and a Career Awareness & Dream Mapping session for high school students under the theme “Know Your Path, Shape Your Future.” NSS volunteers interacted with elderly residents to assess their health and welfare needs and guided them on government schemes and support services. Simultaneously, MCA student volunteers conducted an interactive career guidance session for school students, providing insights into academic pathways, skill development, and goal planning after 10th and 12th grades. The program effectively bridged generations, strengthened social responsibility among students, and contributed to holistic community development.
Soft Skills Training for MCA I Semester
From 27-01-2026 to 29-01-2026, the Placement Team organized a three-day Soft Skills and Aptitude Training Program for MCA I Semester students to build a strong foundation in quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, and analytical skills essential for academic and placement readiness. Conducted by aptitude trainers from Atom—Mr. Om Prashanth, Ms. Amrutha, Mr. Sai Kumar, and Ms. Nethravathi—the program included structured modules, interactive problem-solving sessions, and daily assessments covering topics such as Directions, Set Theory, Syllogisms, Divisibility Rules, Coding-Decoding, Seating Arrangements, Percentages, Simple Equations, Problems on Ages, and Calendars. A pre- and post-assessment framework helped measure students’ progress and learning outcomes. Overall, the training enhanced students’ aptitude skills, confidence, and preparedness for future placement-oriented programs.
Faculty Achievements
- A research paper titled “Comparative Evaluation of Transformer-Based and Baseline NER Models for Kenyan Financial Text” was presented by Mr. Chandaka Giri Babu and Ms priyanka soni, Assistant Professor, SCA at the 9th International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Data Science (ICCIDS 2026). The conference was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering, and held from January 8–10, 2026.

- An invited talk was delivered by Dr. Kokila R, Associate Professor, School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, as part of the international conference “AI-Driven Digital Futures: Leveraging Intelligent Systems for Inclusive Sustainable Societies (ICAIDF-2026)” held on 9th January 2026 at CTTE College for Women. The session highlighted the role of intelligent systems in building inclusive and sustainable societies and provided valuable academic and research insights to participants. The talk was well received and contributed significantly to the objectives of the conference.
