COPE - Digital Transformation
The Centre for Proficiency Enhancement (COPE) – Digital Transformation at Dayananda Sagar University is a strategic initiative under the Technology Pillar of the School of Commerce & Management Studies (SCMS). In today’s era of digital disruption, where businesses are rapidly transforming to remain competitive, COPE equips students with the knowledge, skills, and experiential learning needed to thrive in digitally-driven organizations.
Scope and Objectives
COPE focuses on preparing students for the future of work by integrating cutting-edge digital tools, methodologies, and simulations into the academic curriculum. Its key objectives include:
- Building digital proficiency through hands-on exposure to ERP, CRM, AI and cloud platforms.
- Encouraging certifications in emerging technologies to enhance employability.
- Bridging academia and industry by connecting students with professionals and real-world practices.
- Providing experiential learning via AIMA BizLab business simulations, case studies, and industry workshops.
- Supporting student projects on digital transformation themes.
Relevance to Industry and Academia
The centre bridges academic learning with industry needs. Students learn to apply concepts of digital transformation directly to business contexts by covering domains such as finance, supply chain, marketing, and HR. Industry-ready skills such as Salesforce CRM, Google Digital Marketing, Trello project management and Odoo ERP are introduced. This ensures students are aligned with the latest trends and practices.
Unique Strengths of the Centre
One of COPE’s distinguishing features is its emphasis on experiential learning. The AIMA BizLab simulation allows students to act as decision-makers in a competitive corporate environment, sharpening their strategic and leadership abilities. Mini projects and tool-based practice sessions strengthen hands-on proficiency, while collaborations with industry experts and academic partners foster continuous enrichment.
By offering a blend of theory, technology, and practice, COPE serves as a launchpad for digital readiness, nurturing business leaders who are digitally literate, innovative, and capable of driving transformation in their organizations.
